A warm welcome to the new product ideas from April 1963 page. On this page are a list of ideas for new products that were put forward by people back in 1963.
Perhaps there is something here that sparks your imagination? Maybe you too can come up with a fantastic, new idea for a product. If so, and if it's something that you would like to share with the rest of the world then please do so by visiting my creative ideas page where you will find a form for submitting your creative ideas.
Please note that as these ideas were from 1963 some of them may now be in common use today or simply irrelevant due to them being related to an old fashioned product.
Now for the ideas...
Headlight dimmer switches on the gear shift leavers of trucks. They would make it easier to lower lights on hills and curves where there is lots of gear shifting. - Clifford R Kreiling, Palmdale, California
A curved push broom for sweeping large areas, as in schools or factories. Flared ends would keep sweepings from escaping and save over-lapping. - Ernest Lecy, New Orleans.
Transparent aerosol cans for products used daily - shaving cream, toothpaste, insect sprays - so you could tell when they are about to get empty. - Mrs. R.J.Carpenter, Glenshaw, Pa.
Come apart BBQ grilles with fewer cross sections. The rods would lock at the ends for use, but could be slipped out for easy and thorough washing - J.D.West Newark, N.J.
A padded motor-bike back rest, curved to fit the back. To provide a flat seat for a second rider, you would move it back and swing the curved side down. - B.D.Galligher, Headrick, Okla.
